Introduction

Welcome to the Nordic guide written by

and proofread by .

Nordic is an archetype that summons the Aesir Synchros with the Link 1 monster: Loading... . In doing so the deck aims to quickly reach its end board of Gullveig pointing to an Aesir and Loading... , while there's an Loading... and a Nordic Tuner in GY for recovery. To offset the heavy reliance on Gullveig and her banishing so many cards, the Deck needs cards that protect Gullveig from getting negated such as Loading... , give her free stuff to banish such as Loading... , and engines that do both such as Adventure and Sky Striker.

Pros

  1. The Deck is extremely consistent. It takes pretty much any 1 Nordic on the field to make your full combo.

  2. The Deck is easy to learn. You will not have to memorize 20 different lines for every different card you open. You can recommend this Deck to beginner/returning players; in fact that's how I learnt the TCG.

  3. High power and chance for recovery. The Aesirs have ridiculously high ATK so you will be able to run over almost any monster on the field. Even if they're dealt with you'll usually be able to revive them or immediately put another one on the field.

  4. The element of surprise. You will face many opponents who don't know what your cards do and they'll misplay as a result. This is very important in best of 1 formats.

Cons

  1. The Deck is heavily reliant on Gullveig so getting interrupted by any means ends your turn immediately. Thus, the Deck automatically has a hard time going second.

  2. The Deck has low comeback power. While it can recover, it is quite limited compared to other decks. So after you run out of recovery options you may not have a chance to rebuild your board without topdecking a specific card for the occassion because Gullveig needs you to have cards to banish. And even then you'll build the same board that got dismantled, if not a worse board.

  3. The Deck struggles vs cards and archetypes that activate their effects outside of the field because Svalinn can't interact with them.

  4. The Nordic end board is not enough to contend with the meta. One Gullveig pointing to one Aesir isn't the hardest thing to out, even with the Nordic(s) in your GY, and a lot of Decks can still play after getting hit by Svalinn. You'll need more than Nordics (like handtraps and other engines) to interact with your opponent.

In this guide you will find the recommended Nordic cards, ratios, and combos. These are carefully constructed by the best Nordic players, casual and competitive, to make the most out of the archetype since a lot of the Nordic playmakers are better off staying in the Deck. Remember:

What's a bad hand in Nordics?

Nordics.

Core Nordics

Extra Deck

Guides usually start with the Main Deck first but I don't think I can emphasize enough how crucial Loading... is for Nordics. We'll start with Extra, then move to Main.

Gullveig

Gullveig of the Nordic Ascendant

Yes, that's a Link 1 that can Summon 3 monsters from the Deck.

A Link 1 that Special Summons up to 3 monsters from the Deck would make any other archetype Tier 0. Nordics become playable instead. Imagine if she also searched the Field Spell :^)

She does not banish as cost. You can banish Gullveig herself as one of the cards, which means you can get any Nordic you want from the Deck just by Linking into Gullveig and banishing her!

Gullveig is your main, and most of the time, only Nordic playmaker. Nordics on their own can't make much except for her, so run as many copies as possible. If your Extra Deck space is tight, you can run 2 Gullveig.

...and the Aesirs

Odin, Father of the Aesir
Thor, Lord of the Aesir
Loki, Lord of the Aesir

These are the guys you end your turn on. They require 1 Tuner from a Nordic branch and 2 or more any Non Tuners, and they require said Tuners to revive. They are huge beatsticks with mediocre effects.

Defensively Odin is the best because he has 3500 DEF. Offensively... Odin is still the best because he has 4000 ATK bruh! Odin and Thor's effects basically force the opponent to chain their corresponding cards, so they kind of suck for not being Quick Effects. Loki's is a Quick Effect, only on your Battle Phase so that's also bad. Revive-wise Odin draws 1 which is this Deck's only draw power. Thor burns for 800... cool? And then there's Loki getting any Trap from GY to hand. An average Nordic deck does not run any Alfar Tuners because they don't work well with Gullveig so Loki is never reviving on his own.

You should always run at least 1 of each Aesir because of a certain Main Deck Nordic. The rule of thumb is that number of total Aesirs must be number of Gullveigs +1. So if you're running 3 Gullveig, add 1 more Aesir, preferably Odin.

Main Deck

Those 4 are the only Nordic/Aesir Extra Deck monsters. The Main Deck is where the real chaos begins, since there are sooooo many Nordics to choose from. Good thing only like 5 of them are actually useful.

Alviss

Alviss of the Nordic Alfar

Between a 1 card "Special Summon any 3 from Deck" and 1 card "Mill any 3 from Deck", this Deck sure skirts around being broken. It's just Nordics.

This is that "a certain Main Deck Nordic". Both of Alviss' effects let you cheat out ANY Aesir, meaning you cannot revive them back from GY or banish zone by any means. The secondary effect is the reason why we recommend running all 3 Aesirs at all times, and 1 more Aesir than Gullveigs.

The first effect helps immensely when you don't have fodder cards like Loading... or Loading... . You don't have to send exactly 1 Tuner and 2 non Tuners for this effect; just reach Level 10 with any three Nordics. And the second effect is the quickest way to recover in this Deck. Because all it takes is one Aesir in your possession to be sent to the GY by your opponent, you shouldn't fear getting your Aesir's Summon negated, getting Kaiju'd, getting Super Poly'd, or even having your opponent mill an Aesir chilling in your Extra Deck... once per Duel.

Without any fodder cards, you'll always want to have an Alviss in your hand. Also you're always going to send 1 Alviss to the GY. Finally you'll want to draw into an Alviss in simplified game states, when you only have like 1 other card in hand, and that's another Nordic. For these reasons you are to run 3 Alviss period. This is non-negotiable.

Don't use his 1st effect under the effects of cards like Loading... . You'll banish 3 instead and NOT Summon an Aesir. Yes, a player who knows what Nordics do can chain Shifter to Alviss' effect to ruin your play, but your average opponent will simply shotgun that card.

Ivaldi

Nordic Smith Ivaldi
Reinforcement of the Army

Ivaldi can easily Special Summon itself, and can search a Nordic Relic on summon. The Relics you'll want to search are Loading... , Loading... , and Loading... .

If you have 2 Ivaldis in hand you can Normal one and then Special the other.

For being able to make 1-card Aesirs and being very easy to Summon, Ivaldi is a 4-of. Run that ROTA too. You always want to open Ivaldi and draw into him too. He's even better if you can resolve its effect before Gullveig, thanks to Bursti.

Bursti

Nordic Beast Gullinbursti

Bursti says "yeah Nordics are no longer a bad hand in Nordics". It lets you Synchro Summon ANY Aesir (it only revives Thor though), it "unbricks" your Nordic-riddled hands, and gets Nordics back from the GY. Since Ivaldi can SS itself, Bursti especially loves getting Ivaldi back from GY and making plays off of a single Normal Summon.

Bursti can Special Summon another Bursti from hand. Bursti cannot get another Bursti from GY.

For being able to make 1-card Aesirs (or Lv7 Synchros etc), letting you Synchro Summon any Aesir you want unlike Alviss (Loki may not revive himself but you still can revive him with other cards), and recovering your Nordics, Bursti is a 3-of staple. Opening it may not do anything special unlike Ivaldi, but drawing into Bursti is always good for 1-card Aesir follow-ups.

Goats

Tanngnjostr of the Nordic Beasts
Tanngrisnir of the Nordic Beasts

The only Level 3 non Tuner Nordics, the Goats' effects have fringe uses and they let you plus so that's amazing. Black Goat if left unattended Special Summons another Nordic Beast from the Deck, and the White Goat gives you two Level 3 Tokens.

Those Tokens have Nordic in their name so they can be used to Link Summon Gullveig!

They are run more for their Levels and non Tuner status: Bursti is going to need a Level 3 non Tuner to make an Aesir because it's always going to use either Alviss or Ivaldi. You don't want to open them because this Deck wants to Special Summon them from the Deck, and you especially never want to open all copies of your goats. For these reasons running 2 Goats to not "brick" by opening your only copy is just fine.

Black Goat's effects give you tempo and put you in a big advantage even though they're much slower and harder to pull off than White's, so between the two goats, always prioritize running Black Goat.

Yes, this archetype runs three Level 3 Beast monsters at multiple copies, 1 of which is a Tuner even. No, running Loading... is not recommended.

Valk (Don't bother reading her effect)

Valkyrie of the Nordic Ascendant

The only good Level 2 Tuner Nordic, Valkyrie is meant to strictly be used with Gullveig when you couldn't open neither Alviss nor Ivaldi. Valk + Alviss + Ivaldi makes Level 10, makes Odin.

You're never using her effect. But if you do resolve it, you can do some nasty meme stuff with Isolde etc.

She sucks as a garnet so I recommend running 2. Because of this you should also run 2 Odin because that's the only Aesir she can summon. And because of that you should run 3 Gullveig too because you'll be running 4 Aesirs.

If you can't afford the Extra Deck space you can run 1 Valk. It'll ruin your entire Duel if you open/draw into her, however.

Dverg

Dverg of the Nordic Alfar
Reinforcement of the Army

The first card in the game that, after being Normal Summoned, lets the player gain an extra Normal Summon for an archetype that turn, Dverg is almost completely unusable with Gullveig due to its low Level. However he is pretty much the non Tuner version of Bursti, in that he also "unbricks" your hands, and gets a Nordic Relic from the GY if he is sent from the field to there. And what better way to send Dverg from field to GY than Linking into Gullveig?

This Extra Normal Summon effect cannot be negated with Loading... , Loading... , Loading... , etc. The only way to negate it is to negate Dverg's Normal Summon in the first place, with something like Loading... . Most people don't know this so they will end up wasting their precious handtraps they should have used on Gullveig.

You can use Dverg and Ivaldi together to get 2 Relics [1 from your GY and 1 from your Deck] and all it takes is to Summon one from the hand, make Gullveig with it, then banish only Gullveig to Summon the other from the Deck! Dverg upon being sent to the GY will get a Relic from GY [This interaction always goes CL1 Dverg CL2 Gullveig] and Ivaldi on Summon gets a Relics from the Deck.

You will come across situations where you wish you had a Dverg to retrieve a Relic. Run any number you want. You may even choose to not run it right now (and run multiple Svalinn etc because Ivaldi can search them), I won't mind. Promise.

Once Loading... is released in Master Duel, Dverg will use Loading... to make Loading... into Loading... into 4-mat Loading... when going second. You'll still keep a Normal Summon for a Nordic to make Gullveig in MP2. And when this time comes, Dverg will be a non-negotiable 4-of. Additionally you'll have a reason to run Loading... , a floodgate omni-negate that can be easily made with Dverg and Bursti among other ways, because it searches Illusion of Chaos!

Nordic Relics

Ivaldi singlehandedly reminded people that this branch exists.

Nordic Relic Svalinn

Nordic Relic Svalinn

Yeah Nordics have a searchable mass-omninegate you can use every turn. It has a second effect there somewhere, you won't be activating it much, if at all, because you can only choose one effect per turn.

The best field Nordics can put on their own is Gullveig pointing to an Aesir, and this Set. It just takes a single Summon, so I'll say it's decent.

For being the only way Nordics can contend with the meta, Svalinn is a staple. You can easily get it from the Deck with Ivaldi, and you can easily get it back from the GY with Dverg (or Loki effect but, yknow). You may want to run multiples so if you open it you can safely banish it and get the other from the Deck, without having to banish a good card in your hand.

Nordic Relic Hlid

Nordic Relic Hlidskjalf

A card nobody asked for, and a card everybody wishes was a Quick-Play, Hlidsfgsdfgsdlh enables one card Aesirs without using Gullveig. It's very good for your second turn play because all it takes is having 1 Ivaldi or Bursti in hand.

Its secondary effect is the only way you can "instantly" search a Nordic, because believe it or not this Deck's ROTA is a Normal Trap. Shuffling a card back is not even bad, that too "unbricks" your hand as you can put a garnet back in the Deck.

Gullveig prevents you from using Hlid for the rest of the turn. Hlid prevents you from summoning Gullveig while the monster you summoned is face-up on the field.

You can Special Summon Loading... with Hlid and then crash it to get 2 Tokens and lift Hlid's restriction.

Run 1 Hlid period. You won't want to run multiples because it doesn't really do anything on your first turn. Maybe in the future Nordics will be used as some Tribute Summon engine by some archetypes thanks to this card.

Nordic Relic Gungnir

Nordic Relic Gungnir

It... pops a card in the worst possible way. Gungnir makes any Nordic or Aesir a dollar-store Loading... and lets Nordics Loading... lock.

In extremely simplified gamestates, just having Dverg or Ivaldi in hand can get you Svalinn and Gungnir [1 from GY and 1 Deck] while also reviving an Aesir in GY by simply Summoning one from hand and making Gullveig with it, then banishing only Gullveig to Summon the other from Deck. On your opponent's turn you'll be able to tribute the Nordic with Svalinn and revive an Aesir from GY, and/or use Gungnir to remove a card! If you survived that turn without having to use Gungnir, congratulations you can keep negating with Svalinn! Keep in mind that Gungnir banishes your monster as cost so you should use Svalinn's effect first.

Run 1 because it's the best way Nordics remove cards outside of battle and aside from Svalinn it's the only good card Nordics can use to directly interact with your opponent's cards on their turn. The dip in quality in Relics is real, because this is the third best Relic.

With all that said, I recommend these ratios for as a cookie-cutter build:

20 cards

Other Nordics

"I have a plan" Monsters

You're not meant to run any copies of these cards in an optimized, modern Nordic deck. Unless you have a specific plan in mind. In that case, godspeed.

Loading... mills a Nordic for cost and changes her Level to that. She's a Tuner that also can Synchro Summon ANY Aesir (can only revive Odin however), so she can be an alternative to Valk, by milling Loading... who can revive himself from the GY, or Mara who is a Loki Tuner. Or you can mill Valk so you have 2 Odin revives.

Vanadis + Alviss + Ivaldi, Vanadis mill Mimir is the single best play Gullveig can make actually, however this would force you to run both Vanadis and Mimir, and hope you open neither. The entire Deck is already made of garnets, and running multiples of both so you don't open all makes the Deck so much bigger for no real gain so that's why they're taken out.

Loading... 's effect means it isn't meant to be summoned with Gullveig. That's why it sucks. You can mill it with Vanadis or Alviss still.

Vanadis exclusively needs Nordics to make any Synchro. But she can still use any monster for other plays. She can mill Loading... to be a Level 8 Tuner, perfect to meme with Loading... ! Jorm, or Vanadis mill Jorm + 2 Dvergs makes Level 10, so you can also make any Aesir like that, either with or without Alviss' 1st eff.

Vanadis can mill Loading... to be Level 10 instead, which means you can make Bishbaalkin but also Rank 10s by using your Aesirs!

Loading... can Special Summon himself sometimes. But Bursti and Ivaldi basically rendered him useless. He's still the only Nordic that makes you not exclusively rely on a Normal Summon going second, but nowadays you have no reason not to double down on that with Dverg.

Bursti killed Loading... . F

Loading... 's only use that I can think of is Tribute Summoning it by using your final copy of Gullveig on the field, activate its effect to put Gullveig back to the Extra Deck and Link into her right after. Alternatively you may git gud and not waste your Gullveigs.

To not let Loading... indulge in his self-destructive behaviour you may be inclined to play a Warrior Nordic Deck, since Dverg and Ivaldi are pretty cool. After all, Loading... is one hell of a card and Loading... is awaiting to reach broken status in this Deck.

Loading... may be useful in some weird Tri-Bri Nordic build. You can make Thor by using Bursti, Garmr and a Goat so all of them can be used with Loading... for Loading... lmao. Revolt can use your banished monsters too so you don't have to make Thor by using exactly those three monsters.

Other Nordic Relics

Ew. Solid 0-ofs except for Draupnir in Warrior Nordics. Yeah Megingjord makes your Aesirs huge but it's a Trap so it's slow.

Other Nordic Backrow

Bruh. Solid o-ofs.

Loading... used to be a 3-of staple for obvious reasons but now we can make our full combo with literally any Nordic while also being able to put literally any Nordic we want on the field and/or GY so it's useless.

Loading... would probably be run at 1 if it was a NORDIC Relic like in the anime.

Loading... is very cool but it brings zero card advantage.

Loading... is decent protection but it's only for Aesirs and you can protect anyone from anything you want by negating with Svalinn.

Loading... artwork means Nordics are canonically against Darklords, and all Solemn Counter Traps are part of the Nordic archetype for featuring this guy :^) Jokes aside Gullveig exists so this card sucks.

Activate Loading... . Give Odin to your opponent. Your opponent activates Odin's effect. Odin is now unaffected by Loading... . Odin will not be destroyed, you won't banish your opponent's field, and your opponent keeps Odin. Sick.

Thanks for making my unattackable Gullveig indestructible by battle. Loading... is truly the worst Field Spell in Yugioh. It makes White Goat not work, Black Goat only work after a non-Nordic is destroyed by battle, and makes all Nordics die to backrow removal too as if they weren't vulnerable enough.

Engines

That was all the Nordic cards. Now we move onto engines that go well with Nordics.

Adventure

Adventure is the single best thing to pair Nordics with. Before you go "AWW JUST ANOTHER DECK SLAPPING THIS BROKEN ENGINE peepoLeave" you should understand that every single card here does something for Gullveig. It's not just "lmao omninegate".

Loading... mills Loading... who searches Loading... which puts a Token and Loading... to the field. Fateful then searches Loading... to give you an omninegate and protect Gullveig. Finally, when you Link summon Gullveig you activate Fateful's third effect and chainblock Gullveig by searching/equipping Loading... . Now you can freely banish Fateful and Dracoback for Gullveig, two free cards and an omninegate!

The "restriction" of Rite hardly matters because Dverg's effect cannot be negated, and you can just Special Summon any Nordic(s) you want from the Deck anyway.

Loading... can be run in any number. If you open this card without a way to actually put Adv Token + Gryphon on the field, it will still give you 3 cards for Gullveig to banish. All you have to do is search and discard Water Enchantress, and search Rite with her. Then you'll make Gullveig and CL block her, banishing Fateful, Rite and Dracoback. You don't even have to activate Rite here because you'll be unable to use your Normal Summoned monster's effect and you risk giving a free draw to your opponent if they have Maxx C. If you do have Gryphon in hand, activate that Rite obviously.

If you read your opponent's delays and are certain they don't have a response while you already have Adv Token on the field, you can search Dracoback before you make Gullveig, then search Gryphon and discard Dracoback to immediately equip it back to Adv Token. That way you'll lose 1 less card after using Gullveig's effect. This play also comes up when you are going second and have to remove 1 of your opponent's cards.

You can discard Hlid with Fateful to get any Nordic you want immediately. If you also opened Dracoback you can shuffle that too and equip it from the Deck after.

Rite of AramAesir is the way.

Sky Strikers

Chain Loading... to Gullveig, protect her from everything while you banish it. Chain Loading... to Gullveig and get two cards to banish. Loading... searches those cards. It's that simple. Yeah you can play more cards if you're into Sky Strikers.

If you're going to use this engine you can't really use any other engine because you're supposed to control nothing in your Main Monster Zone.

Honourable Mentions

Libromancers

They're not in Master Duel yet but I've seen one person succeed with it in the TCG. This engine does not use your Normal Summon, gives a lot of free stuff for Gullveig and it also uses Loading... .

Tri-Brigades

Nordics sure have a lot of Beasts, and they can use 3 of them to make Thor who's a Beast-Warrior. Gullveig clogs your Link Zones so that sucks, not to mention the best Nordics are a Fairy, a Warrior and a Spellcaster. At least you'll be able to return your banished Beasts etc to GY with Revolt.

Spright

Loading... gives the same protection Gullveig gives (it doesn't protect itself like Gullveig does however) so expect potential combos once they arrive.

Techs

Other Main Deck Monsters

Loading... in hand can shuffle itself to search Souls, and then be milled to Summon Souls in hand. Loading... is a free Level 1 on the board. There it can make Loading... into Loading... into a 4-mat Loading... with another Level 1, preferably Loading... so you can still Normal Summon a Nordic on your MP2. Souls can also be used as draw power thanks to Adventure Engine, or you can send a Nordic Relic to GY and let Dverg get it back immediately by Linking it (this will also chainblock Dverg). IOC is not in the game yet so you can't search Souls, which also means you need a target to mill. Loading... or Loading... probably.

I'd still recommend waiting until we get IOC to play Souls.

Loading... is... a card. You can mill it with Loading... which is cool. It won't be easy summoning Snow more than once, and SRD in this Deck has fallen off in popularity after Loading... got banned.

Rescue Cat

Turns out Nordics love being Special Summoned from the Deck. Guess what Loading... does. Cat and Rite cannot be used in the same Deck and getting Cat negated means you won't even have a 800 attack vanilla on the field. There are better cards that give you 1 card for Gullveig, and none of them take your Normal Summon.

Formud Skipper

Loading... is the one non Nordic you can use to Link Summon Gullveig, and then chainblock Gullveig to search a Cyberse monster. Or you can just use... a Nordic.

D.D. Telepon
Psi-Blocker

You can chain Loading... to Gullveig's effect, Special Summon Loading... , then banish E-tele and Telepon. Telepon will then banish Loading... from the Deck, Special Summon it on your next turn and let you negate any one card in the game that turn. Cool.

And the other good monsters would be all the handtraps you can imagine. Well, most of them: You can't run Loading... in this Deck and Loading... harms you a lot; though D Shifter can be used somewhat.

Other Spells

With these cards you'll essentially cover one of the three cards Gullveig has to banish, while protecting her from getting negated. Gullveig must resolve no matter what.

Emergency Teleport
Hippo Carnival
E-Tele is 2 fodders for Gullveig. Hippo Carnival is 3. Run either of these cards at max copies if you're not on Adventure Engine.
Pot of Prosperity

The only Pot card you can always run in this Deck. You're not realistically OTKing your opponents so it's fine. It'll help you dig into a card you really need.

Kaiser Colosseum

Loading... is a decent floodgate since you won't be having a lot of monsters on the field unless you're running Adv Engine. This card is banned in TCG for a reason.

Chicken Game

Draw 1 with Loading... . Banish Chicken Game (and maybe the card you drew) with Gullveig. Genius!

One for One

No card that makes you go minus as cost can be run in Nordics (that's why Loading... is not listed in this guide), but if you're running a seriously high number of Level 1 monsters you can consider this card. You must Normal Summon Dverg to get the extra Normal Summon.

These cards are for Loki gaming.

Other Traps

Loading... is what Gotterdammerung should have been. Assuming your Aesir(s) is the highest Level monster on the field, this card will protect Aesir(s) (and other Level 10s on the field) from everything and banish every other monster! Kind of sucks if you have other important monsters on the field. You may want to play a Dark Dragon Synchro to get the card back from the GY. Or use Loki's effect. Or not.

Gravity Collapse

Loading... basically wins you the game if you resolve it. You can revive your Aesir with Svalinn (provided you Synchro Summoned it) on the same turn you used this card, or you can use its negate that turn, then revive on your turn. It is unplayable if you go second.

Dark Renewal

Loading... is for (Synchro Summoned) Loki gaming.

Other Extra Deck Monsters

Fusion Monsters

It's your Loading... target that might also be used for Rank 1 etc plays. If your opponent is foolish enough to play into MER it means Gullveig will be able to banish MER and the monster equipped to it.

You can chain MER to Loading... and do whatever you want with it later on, including banishing it with Gullveig. Mirrorjade will not banish your card, and it definitely won't wipe your field because it will leave the field when it was under your control!

Give Cyber Dragon players the middle finger. Loading... can wipe their entire frontline.

Synchro Monsters

Nordics have always been decent at summoning Level 7 Synchros. Black Goat 2nd effect into Guldfaxe passed the torch to Bursti getting Ivaldi in GY and Ivaldi SSing itself, if Bursti cannot already SS a Level 4 non Tuner Nordic in hand.

You can run any Level 7 Synchro; these three are some of the best options. I'm using Loading... myself because I have it as royal finish. Loading... is in the same secret pack as Accesscode so that's neat.

Loading... can dump Loading... so you can use it starting from next turn. You can then use SRD for other Synchro plays, notably Loading... . This used to be so much better when Halq was not banned.

Dverg + Bursti can make Loading... , a floodgate and an omninegate that can also be used for Rank 4 plays (will search Loading... once it's in the game too). Black Goat & Bursti can make Level 6 Synchros. Loading... shows up as a possibility when you manage to reach Level 10 on the field without locking yourself into Aesirs.

Using an Aesir to Synchro climb? Blasphemy. Loading... isn't in the game yet, you'd know if it was available: it's hella strong. Loading... is unaffected by everything while in the EMZ. You can use Loading... to make Punisher, and Valk etc. for Sigma.

Xyz Monsters

Since it is very possible to have 2 Aesirs on the field, you can totally overlay them for some trains. Attacking with 2 Aesirs and then using Gustav for game comes up quite often. Liebe, not so much, though it may help having a 6000 ATK monster that can attack monsters twice or thrice. Liebe permanently gains the ATK/DEF boost.

This small engine somewhat helps going second. The ideal way of making Loading... is with Loading... and Dverg, so you can still Normal Summon a Nordic and make plays on MP2. You can always use MER and/or some Loading... or E-Tele target ofc. I know, using Zeus in a Nordic Deck is very ironic.

Black Goat & Bursti can also make Rank 3 plays. Somehow having Alviss and Ivaldi in hand yields Rank 4s. These will almost never come up but at least you'll be prepared. Shutting the field with Svalinn and the GY with Loading... sounds amazing after all.

Gullveig is Light and she'll be clogging your Link Arrows all the time. Loading... helps with that by using Gullveig and literally any other monster, and can be extended into Selene while potentially snatching a LIGHT monster in your opponent's GY. Loading... can revive any Spellcaster in your GY (Alviss, Loading... , Loki, etc.) in Defence position. Finally you can end on a 5300 ATK Loading... and pop 1 card (or 2 if you banish Accesscode itself). Acesscode's effects cannot be chained to by your opponent. They can activate a card after Accesscode gains ATK on summon, and only in that window.

Link away your opponent's problem monster with Loading... . You'll occasionally have those games. She has extremely good effects and decent protection. She also happens to be a goddess in a different mythology, so the more gods the merrier.

If you want to dump Dverg but you're too hipster to do so by Link Summoning Gullveig with it. MER also can be used for Loading... or Loading... . Both Linkuriboh and Loading... have a Quick Effect that can protect you.

Link monsters that remove stuff by discarding 1.

Combos

Combo 1: Basic stuff

It requires any 1 Nordic in hand and nothing else.

If you have Ivaldi in hand go to Combo 2. If you have a Nordic and Alviss in hand go to Combo 3.

Step 1: Summon the Nordic. Link Summon Gullveig.

Step 2: Banish enough cards to have Valk, Alviss and Ivaldi on the field.

Step 3: Activate Ivaldi effect to search Svalinn. Search another Relic if you already have it in your hand.

Step 4: Synchro Summon Odin.

With this you'll have an untargettable Aesir and an unattackable Gullveig. You'll be able to revive Odin with Valk in the GY. You can float into another Aesir with Alviss in the GY. Finally you have Svalinn as a negate.

If you opened Alviss and no other Nordics, you can instead put Bursti, Ivaldi and a Goat, then make Thor.

Combo 2: Ivaldi sets a follow-up play

If you opened Ivaldi and can activate his effect, do this.

Step 1: Summon Ivaldi. Search Svalinn, or another Relic if you already have it in hand. Link Summon Gullveig by using Ivaldi.

Step 2: Banish enough cards to have Bursti, Alviss and a Goat on the field. Activate Bursti's second effect to get Ivaldi back from the GY.

Step 3: Synchro Summon an Aesir depending on whose Tuner(s) are in the GY.

On your next turn...
Nordic Smith Ivaldi
Nordic Relic Hlidskjalf
Nordic Beast Gullinbursti
Tanngnjostr of the Nordic Beasts
Thor, Lord of the Aesir

Step 4: (Assuming you're controlling a Nordic/Aesir) Special Summon Ivaldi, search Hlid. Activate Hlid, Special Summon Bursti. Bursti adds a Goat from GY. Normal Summon Goat. Synchro Summon an Aesir depending on whose Tuner(s) are in the GY.

You can then make anything you want with the two Aesirs on the field.

With this you'll have an untargettable Aesir and an unattackable Gullveig. You'll be able to revive Thor with Bursti in the GY. You can float into another Aesir with Alviss in the GY. You have Svalinn as a negate. You can make a 1-card Aesir next turn.

Combo 3: Alviss' 1st effect

Do this if you opened two Nordics, one of which is Alviss.

Step 1: Link Summon Gullveig. Banish only Alviss. Special Summon Ivaldi.

Step 2: The banished Alviss and Ivaldi will be SEGOC. Since both effects can be Ashed anyway (so can Gullveig tbf), put Alviss in CL1 and Ivaldi in CL2 so you have a higher chance to put an Aesir on the field.

Step 3: CL2 Ivaldi searches Svalinn, or you get the idea at this point.

Step 4: CL1 Alviss sends Ivaldi from field and Alviss + Valk from Deck to GY.

You should mill yourself, NOW!

-Gullveig, to Alviss

Step 5: Cheat out any Aesir you want.

With this you have successfully played around Loading... by Summoning exactly 4 monsters! You have an untargettable Aesir and an unattackable Gullveig. You will not be able to revive your Aesir by any means. You can float into another Aesir with Alviss in the GY. You have Svalinn as a negate.

Yeah for this scenario it's better to mill Mimir instead of Valk.

If you opened Ivaldi and Alviss, and you want to banish only Alviss/play around Nibiru, simply activate Ivaldi before you make Gullveig. You still have to send 1 Alviss to the GY so just reach Level 6 by any means. If you want to banish 3 just Normal Alviss, Special Ivaldi, then follow Combo 2.

If you opened 2 Alvisses, instead of sending Alviss and Valk to the GY in Step 4, just reach Level 6 by any means.

Combo 4: Adventure time

All it takes is any 1 Nordic and Loading... .

Step 1: Activate Rite. Special Summon Adv Token and put Fateful on the field. Activate Fateful to search Gryphon and discard 1. Special Summon Gryphon.

Step 2: Follow Combo 1 or 2 depending on which Nordic(s) you opened. You can't use Normal Summoned monsters' effects the turn you activate Rite so keep that in mind too. When you Link Summon Gullveig, Fateful and Gullveig will go on SEGOC. CL1 Gullveig CL2 Fateful and search/equip Dracoback. You can freely banish Fateful and Dracoback, they have served their purpose.

Step 3: Keep following Combo 1 or 2 depending on which Nordic(s) you opened.

With this you'll have an untargettable Aesir and an unattackable Gullveig. You'll be able to revive your Aesir in the GY. You can float into another Aesir with Alviss in the GY. You have Svalinn as a negate. Depending on what you opened you can make a 1-card Aesir next turn. Finally you have Gryphon and Adv Token on the field as an omninegate. That makes 2 negates off of 2 cards.

If you read your opponent's delays and are certain they don't have a response, you can search Dracoback before you make Gullveig, then search Gryphon and discard Dracoback to immediately equip it back to Adv Token. That way you keep your other cards in hand.

Example Deck

Below is an example Deck at 40 cards, built with the intention of doing well in Master Duel Ranked (aka reaching Diamond 5 at least). You should adjust the ratios of some cards to your liking and please don't hesitate to go over 40 cards. It is totally fine to do so; the average Nordic Deck can run around 45 cards without having to worry about consistency.
